Just a few days after my arrival, I got to experience some of the hottest days where being outdoors was practically impossible. I have finally taught myself to carry a water bottle wherever I go. The evenings are good for outdoor activities though. Personally, I prefer to go out a couple of times a week in the evening for shopping and what have you. I get to experience the Qatar night life, and to meet some new friends.
The Fifa World cup 2022 is going to take place in Qatar. Most people are concerned about how it is going to be, given the high temperatures in summer, which can get as high as 50 degrees. But the goon news is that all that has been put into consideration and the event will actually take place in November, where the temperatures are quite low.
The other issue that comes with the high temperatures is the use of air conditioning in practically every room and vehicle. I don't know why this happens, but the air conditioning makes indoor temperatures pretty low and for someone like me coming from Kenya, unbearable. Technically, it is summer on the outside and winter in the inside. It is a no win situation for the newbies, who are obviously not accustomed to sudden temperature fluctuations.
